Privacy Policy

nicemem stores the memories you give it so you can get them back later. Your content is private to your account. We don’t sell it, don’t show you ads, and don’t use it to train machine-learning models.

Account data.When you sign in with Google we receive your email address and name from your Google account. We don’t receive your Google password.

Your memories. The content you save — notes, snippets, links — along with tags, source attribution, and any metadata you attach.

API keys. Keys you create are stored only as one-way hashes. The plaintext is shown to you once at creation and never stored or logged.

Usage data. Timestamps of when memories are created, edited, and retrieved. Retrieval activity feeds the ranking (memories you come back to stay stronger in search).

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (valid for up to 30 days) and short-lived cookies during the Google sign-in handshake. That’s it — no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics.

Your data is handled by a small set of infrastructure providers:

Google— sign-in. Google tells us who you are; we don’t send your memories to Google.

OpenAI— search. Memory content is sent to OpenAI’s embeddings API to generate the vectors that power semantic search. Under OpenAI’s API terms this data is not used to train their models.

Prisma— hosting. The application and database run on Prisma’s infrastructure; your data lives in its Postgres database.

We share data with no one else, unless required to by law.

Deleting a memory removes it from your timeline, search, and every API surface immediately. Residual copies may persist briefly in database backups before they age out.

You can export everything you’ve stored at any time via the export API. To delete your account and all of its data, email us and we’ll do it.

All traffic is encrypted in transit. API keys are hashed at rest, sessions live in httpOnly cookies, and every query is scoped to your account at the data layer. Memory content is deliberately kept out of logs and error reports.

If this policy changes materially, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
